- How far is the Loft from Rye?
The Oasthouse Loft is just 15 minutes’ drive from the picturesque centre of Rye and 25 minutes from the stunning beach at Camber Sands.
- How far is the Loft from Eurotunnel, Eurostar and the ferry?
We are just over an hour’s drive from the Eurotunnel at Folkestone (38 miles) and Dover ferry port (46 miles). The Eurostar terminal at Ashford is just 45 minutes’ drive (27 miles).
- How far is the Loft from London?
We are 64 miles from Central London, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Trains from nearby Battle and Robertsbridge stations take 1 hour 15 minutes and stop at London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charing Cross.
- Are bed linen and towels included?

- Access information for The Loft
There is a level parking area for one car, 20 metres from the access stairs.
A very shallow ramp 1.2 metres wide and 2 metres long precedes the access stairs.
Oasthouse Loft is on the upper storey of a two storey building and can be reached via a substantial wooden external staircase with 11 steps 87 cm wide, 26 cm deep and 20cm high. There are solid banisters on the right hand side all the way up.
The top step has a rise of 22 cm and lands on a platform 100 cm wide and 120 cm long, with a solidly built banister surround and a lockable gate to prevent children falling down the stairs.
The access door is 86 cm wide, 186 cm high and has a small step up 13 cm high.
The interior is on one level with a solid wooden floor and no raised steps in the internal doorways. The bathroom has a tiled floor with a roughened surface to prevent slipping. There is a 26cm high step into the shower.
The ceiling height is 193 cm in the centre section which is 200 cm wide. The inside of the eves fall from 193 cm to a height of 93 cm over a distance of 158 cm on both sides. No complaints have been received about restricted ceiling height or lack of usable floor space due to the slope of the eves.
The double bed is 193 cm long (6ft 4 inches) and 137 cm wide (4ft 6 inches). The good quality sofa bed is 133 cm wide (4ft 8 inches) and 195 cm (6ft 5 inches) long when erected.
The dining table sits 3 persons comfortably and can be extended to fit 4 or 5 persons at a maximum.
Oasthouse Loft has good lighting all round with ample natural light from many windows and good electric lighting.
