Self Catering Holiday Let - The Oasthouse Loft on the Kent and Sussex border, near Rye

The Oasthouse Loft Near Rye, East Sussex and Kent. A Self Catering Country Cottage Holiday Let or Weekend Break near Kent, in Rye, East Sussex.Welcome to the Oasthouse Loft at Northiam - a holiday let that offers some of the most spectacular countryside views in The Garden of England. With 360-degree panoramic views across the heart of King Harold's 1066 Country, made famous by the Norman Conquest, this retreat offers a stay in perfect seclusion. On the border of Kent and East Sussex, it is within easy reach of the historic towns or Rye and Hastings and the continental ports of Dover and Folkestone.

Equally captivating in all four seasons, the Oasthouse Loft makes the perfect location for a romantic weekend or week away, any time of the year. Stroll through our breathtaking bluebell woods in late spring, spot orchids in a carpet of wood anemones in late winter and wander between the foxgloves by the stream in summer. With only a handful of dwellings nearby, this holiday cottage is completely untouched by either noise or light pollution. Just feast on the fresh air and wallow in the silence.

A self-catering holiday let with a difference, the Loft is cosy and characterful as a country cottage but with a modern layout and design. A light, timber-framed space, its many windows afford an elevated birds-eye view of an idyllic, traditional rural setting. The wood-burning stove, fuelled by our own woodland, makes it a snug retreat from the outside world, allowing you to submerge yourself in the scenery. Watch fiery sunsets, a sky brimming with stars and pink mist filling the valley at dawn - all from the comfort of your bed.

The Oasthouse Loft forms part of our small working farm which houses our own rare and beautiful herd of South African Boer goats. Guests are welcome to get involved in activities on the farm, including bottle-feeding the goats during kidding season. However, if you prefer a less hands-on approach, all sorts of wildlife can be spotted from the Loft's windows - watch foxes trotting across the fields, badgers foraging at dusk and buzzards soaring overhead, finally falling asleep to the sound of owls hooting across the valley.

Approximately one hour from both the Dover ferry terminal and the EuroTunnel at Folkestone and 45mins from the Ashford International Eurostar station, the Oasthouse Loft is easily accessible from the continent. We are also conveniently located within 15 minutes drive of the picturesque Georgian town of Tenterden, the coastal smugglers' town of Rye, Bodiam Castle, the Battle of Hastings sites and Christopher Lloyd's stunning gardens at Great Dixter. With the added attraction of the long sandy beach at Camber Sands, this area of Sussex has more than enough to cater for every taste, interest or activity.
